Newcastle United fans have tweeted their thoughts on reports that Christian Atsu will become a permanent member of the team next season. And they are divided.
Christian Atsu, The 25-year-old spent the 2016-17 campaign on loan, playing in 32 Championship games, scoring five goals and creating three assists.
Atsu was part of the team that won the second tier and earned promotion to the Premier League, and he is expected to remain in Rafael Benitez’s squad next season.
The Ghana international has been on Chelsea’s books since 2013, but he has not made a single appearance for the team.
Instead, the West London outfit have shipped him out on loan to Vitesse, Everton, Bournemouth, Malaga and Newcastle.
Clearly, Benitez sees something in Atsu and is expected to make him his first summer signing when the window opens on July 1.
Some fans are excited about the Ghanaian staying put, but others are not quite convinced.

£6.2 million for Atsu is a steal. He livened up many games off the bench last season. Great news! #nufc

I think £6M for Atsu will prove to be a bargain. Can see his game really improving once the squad as a whole has been improved. #NUFC
